Feature
Public storefront: Commerce toggles to live checkout
The storefront is part of Website Studio on Advanced. Turn on Include on storefront per work or configuration, complete the Storefront checklist (Stripe, Shippo, ship-from address), and publish. Checkout orders land in Storefront orders; negotiated deals still flow through viewing rooms and Invoices.
Commerce vs deals on the same Works record
Commerce (self-serve cart at fixed price) and deals (rooms, holds, negotiated Invoices) share one Works catalogue. Mark each work or configuration as storefront-eligible, room-only, or both.
A six-figure painting usually stays off the storefront; edition prints, books, and studio multiples belong there. See inventory management for availability flags.
Complete Website Studio Storefront setup
Open Website Studio → Storefront tab. Connect Stripe and Shippo, set ship-from address, and review international customs gaps the checklist surfaces.
Under Site, add storefront blocks (collection grid, featured product) that read listed configurations, not duplicate product rows.
Until the checklist passes, Include on storefront toggles may stay disabled with a tooltip pointing back here.
List objects and configurations
Objects with a single SKU: set list price on Commerce and enable Include on storefront.
Catalogue works: add configurations on Editions or Options, set price and stock on each, toggle storefront per configuration.
Digital deliverables: mark a Files row as delivery file before listing. Shipping dimensions on Commerce feed live Shippo rates at checkout.
After checkout
Paid orders appear under Storefront orders. Fulfillment tasks include buying Shippo labels (auto-purchase optional in Settings → Storefront).
Selling an edition copy decrements stock on the configuration and updates consignment share when the work is consigned.
Collectors who checkout also match or create Contacts for repeat email segments.
Tax and shipping
Stripe Tax handles US sales tax where you register. International orders use shipping dimensions from the work Commerce panel for carrier rates.
Oversized packages may require flat-rate shipping configured in Settings → Storefront when live rates are unavailable.
Permissions before listing consigned work
Works on consignment contracts inherit discount ceilings. Listing a consigned work may require director approval when the contract restricts public price display.
Audit who toggled Include on storefront from work Activity when a consignor asks why a price appeared online.

- Does Art.industries take a storefront commission?
- No. Stripe processing fees only; payouts go to your connected account.
- Can I run the shop on a subdomain?
- Yes. Point a subdomain in Website Studio → Domain while sharing the same Works catalogue.
